  • Spotlights seeking Ireland’s best employee
  • Entries are open for SMEs nationwide

One4all is issuing a final call for entrants to the `Spotlights’, which shine a light and reward those employees who have made an outstanding contribution to their company over the past year. This recognition programme from One4all in association with Chambers Ireland, Ireland’s largest business organisation, has been created for SMEs to find Ireland’s best employee – that person who always goes the extra mile – by offering colleagues the facility to reward these unsung heroes.

This competition is supported locally by Shannon Chamber.

Nominations will be open until November 4 and can be made via the One4all Rewards website, www.one4allrewards.ie/spotlights. The awards are open to all employers and employees of Irish SMEs and applications will be judged by an independent panel of business leaders, including members of Chambers Ireland.  Judging will finish on November 8th, with winners being announced week commencing 14th November.

In a One4all Rewards survey* carried out earlier this year, 58% of workers said feeling valued by an employer is what keeps them most engaged in their jobs. More than half, 52%, said that when choosing an employer in their field, a reputation for treating staff well was the most important factor. The Spotlights recognise those employees who have made an outstanding contribution in the workplace over the past 12 months, while also recognising that employers within the SME sector may not be in a position to offer financial rewards to staff.

To enter the Spotlights, simply nominate your chosen employee or work colleague, explaining why you feel they should receive recognition.

The Spotlights will reward Provincial winners of Leinster, Munster and Connacht with a €250 One4all Gift Card, with runner-up prizes of a €100 Gift card in each province.

An overall All-Ireland winner, Ireland’s best employee, will receive a One4all Gift card worth €500.

Speaking ahead of the One4all Spotlights launch, Michael Dawson, CEO of One4all, said:

“We’ve seen a great upturn in the business environment over the past year, and at the heart of any business is the employees. Of course there is still uncertainty, with Brexit and how it might impact the wider economy. This is a great way to recognise the contribution that employees have made over the past year, without costing the company any money. One4all is delighted to help SMEs in Ireland reward their employees, which is a great way to deepen relationships and to encourage employee loyalty.’’

Helen Downes, CEO, Shannon Chamber, said:

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Chamber members, and the wider business community alike, in the local area to get their employees and companies engaged in a very positive process that rewards the many unsung heroes that help us all achieve success and who go that extra mile. The Spotlights remind employees that great work doesn’t go unnoticed and that great work is appreciated by their employers. It would be fantastic to have an employee from the local area win the provincial prize, and even better to win Ireland’s Best Employee!’’
