Collection and Retention of Trainee Data

As the promoter of a Skillnet training network – Shannon Chamber Skillnet – Shannon Chamber collects Trainee Personal Data at course registration, in either online or hard-copy format. Such data is collected in line with Skillnet Ireland’s Trainee Privacy Statement and the Learning Network Privacy Statement and uploaded onto Skillnet Ireland’s central Sonrai data system.

As per data protection principles of data minimisation and data security, such trainee personal data is held for a period of 3 years from the end of the preceding calendar year in which the data was collected, equating to between 2 years and 1 day (min) to 2 years and 364 days (max). Once hard copy data is purged online, all hard copy data is destroyed via shredding.

Separate to the collection of personal data, trainees are also given the option to opt in/out of their email address being added to the Shannon Chamber mailing list.
