A scientist first and foremost, his forthright and entertaining ways of getting facts about the pandemic across has endeared him to the nation. He has fast become the go-to person for forthright commentary on the virus – causes, effects, and cures. He understands the dynamics of infectious disease and the relevance of good public health measures, ventilation, test and trace and so many more aspects involved in reducing the spread and impact of COVID-19.
