Leanne Storan, Tax Partner, EY Ireland

Background

â–șTax Partner at EY Ireland and Head of Tax at EY Limerick, responsible for the coordination and delivery of all tax services to EY Limerick office’s multinational and indigenous company client base.

â–șLeanne has over 20 years experience working with multi-national and indigenous companies on broad corporation tax matters including corporate tax compliance and planning, corporate restructuring and financing, intellectual property holding and innovation incentives on a wide variety of EY clients.

â–șLeanne has a broad, established network of business relationships across Limerick and the Mid West region and is a Director on the board of the Limerick Chamber of Commerce.

â–șLeanne is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute. She holds a BBS Business Studies from the University of Limerick

Professional experience

â–șLeanne advises a wide range of clients across a variety of industries including Life Science, Technology  manufacturing and aviation sectors.

â–șExperience in all areas of tax with particular emphasis on corporation tax including the R&D tax credit and KDB regime

â–șExperience in dealing with Irish Revenue on all tax matters

â–șExperience working with entrepreneurial and fast growth companies delivering all relevant tax services to these companies and their shareholders

Ian Collins, Partner & Head of Innovation Incentives, EY Ireland

Experience

â–șHas been making R&D tax claims and capital allowances claims for clients in various industry sectors for more than 15 years

â–șSecured the first Irish Revenue R&D tax credit pre-approval for a client in the software sector, encompassing a technical review by an industry expert engaged by Irish Revenue

â–șHas briefed both Irish Revenue and the Department of Finance on the workings of the R&D tax credit regime and KDB regime

â–șRegularly conducts training seminars and workshops on these various incentive regimes

â–șActs as tutor/speaker for the Irish Tax Institute, including keynote speaker at the Irish Tax Institute Annual Conference 2016.

â–șSounding board for Irish Revenue on changes to these regimes

Qualifications

â–șIan is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute.

â–șIan serves on the Council of the Irish Taxation Institute, and on the Institute of Taxation’s Policy & Technical Committee


The panel of speakers will share their recent experience regarding innovation and incentives in their industries, compiling best in class R&D claims, managing Irish Revenue interventions and dealing with increasing tax compliance and reporting obligations in this regard.
