Recent Developments in Insurance Liability Claims Environment to be Outlined at Shannon Chamber Event

With insurance premiums increasing annually and impacting at both personal and business levels, Shannon Chamber is keen to assess why this is happening and what can be done, if anything, to redress this development.

A breakfast briefing on the subject has been organised by the Chamber in conjunction with leading global advisory, broking and solutions company, Willis Towers Watson and will take place in the Oakwood Hotel in Shannon on Wednesday, 26 April from 8am to 9:30am.

Keynote speaker Niall O’Neill, claims director with Willis Towers Watson will examine recent developments in the insurance claims environment, look at current court trends and advise attendees how to initiate an effective claims management system.

Encouraging businesses to attend, Shannon Chamber chief executive Helen Downes said: “We are delighted to have someone with such vast knowledge and experience in this area address our seminar. Not only will Niall O’Neill go through the benefits of having a robust reporting and investigation system, but he will also demonstrate the value of having CCTV, photographic evidence and identifying witnesses, taking statements and retaining all relevant records.

“He will also illustrate how early detailed investigation enables informed decision making, the role of the Injuries Board, what happens when rehabilitation is required and its impact on medical expenses and loss of earnings.

“This is a very topical subject today and one which we would advise our members to be fully conversant with as insurance is an escalating company overhead,” added Ms Downes.
