Description

Have you or your business had to handle a public liability or motor insurance claim recently? Have your insurance premiums increased significantly, due to a marked rise in claims and insurance fraud according to the insurance industry? Or are you worried about how to cope with, or pre-empt, a potential insurance claim?

If your answer is ‘yes’ to any of these questions, then this breakfast seminar on Wednesday next, April 26 is a ‘must attend’ event.

Come along to the Oakwood Hotel and get expert advice and insights on this growing issue for business owners and managers, and insurance policy holders, from Niall O’Neill, Claims Director with Willis Towers Watson.

This is an opportunity to get first-hand insights on how to handle this growing area of concern for businesses and consumers from an expert with particular inside knowledge of the business stretching back over 32 years. Niall joined Willis Towers Watson (then Coyle Hamilton) in January 2002 as Claims Manager, having previously worked for Hibernian Insurance as Senior Claims Executive in the claims function.

Niall will outline the latest trends in insurance claims, including detailing the main ‘drivers’ of higher claims and various judicial and legislative factors which have influenced the rise in premiums.

He will then set out the various steps that business owners and managers should take to manage claims. He will go through the benefits of having a robust reporting and investigation system and of having CCTV and photographic evidence. Other aspects to be covered include the importance of identifying witnesses, taking statements and retaining all relevant records.

Niall will also illustrate how early detailed investigation enables informed decision making. The role of the Injuries Board, as well as what happens when rehabilitation is required and its impact on medical expenses and loss of earnings, are other topics to be considered.

A member of An Garda Siochana will also present a special ‘case study’ on fraud in the motor insurance sector.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to get the most up-to-date information and advice on this highly sensitive and potentially serious issue – not only for your business but for you on a personal level as an insurance policy holder.
