Certificate of Origin is a document attesting that goods in a particular export shipment are wholly obtained or produced or manufactured or processed in a particular country (country of origin).

Virtually every country in the world considers the origin of imported goods when determining what duty will be assessed on the goods or, in some cases, whether the goods may be legally imported at all.

The main forms of Certificates of Origin are:

We issue:

  • EU Certificates of Origin
  • Arab-Irish Certificates
  • for use when goods are being shipped to any of the 19 Arab League countries (Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen)
  • Certificates for India, China and the Philippines

Companies can now apply for Certificates of Origin online via www.tradecert.com . This allows companies to make considerable savings in both time and resources.

Shannon Chamber processes Certificates of Origin, both EU and Arab Irish in conjunction with County Kildare Chamber.  We can also provide guidance on applying for the online www.tradecert.com service.
