With schools closed for the summer, SkyCourt Shopping Centre in Shannon has taken the initiative of launching a free summer kids club aimed at occupying the minds of kids under 10 during the months of July and August.
The Kids Club will run from 1pm to 4pm every Thursday with shows running at 1pm, 2pm or 3pm and a different activity taking place each week.
As SkyCourt manager Pat Kelly explains: âWhile children love their summer holidays, it can be very hard for parents to continually find things for them to do. Thatâs why weâve decided to run this Kids Club.
âIt will run over nine weeks, from Thursday, 2 July until 27 August with the kids learning something new every week.
The range of activities includes cupcake making, bingo, pirates and princess, puppetry, science, gingerbread men, circus skills, magic and build a brick. Each activity will last an hour or less and children can attend one of the three sessions every Thursday, which gives lots of children the opportunity to partake. There is no pre-booking so participation is on a first-come basis.
âWe are delighted to roll out this free summertime club for the kids from the Shannon area and hope parents will avail of this great opportunity to have some time to themselves in SkyCourt while their children are having fun,â added Mr Kelly.
SkyCourt Shannonâs free summer kids club starts this Thursday, 2 July at 1pm.
