Shannon Chamber welcomes the announcement by Shannon Venue Ltd that the sale of the site for the One Shannon Hub at Shannon Town Centre to Clare County Council has been completed.
“The Chamber has supported the development of the town centre as a key element in advancing Shannon’s overall appeal as a vibrant place in which to work, live and visit. The provision of a multi-functional civic and community facility in the heart of the Town Centre is vital in achieving this objective,” said Helen Downes, Chamber CEO.
Paying tribute to the Venue team who initially put forward the proposal for such a facility in 2012, Helen Downes added that it is most encouraging to see that the Co. Council has now taken ownership of the project. The completion of the site sale is a significant step forward in bringing the facility to fruition.
“The Chamber has liaised closely with the Council, who are spearheading the design, funding and delivery of the project. We are committed to strongly supporting this initiative and to work with the Council on an ongoing basis to ensure that the project is delivered for the benefit of the whole Shannon community, including the business sector in the region,” she added.
