In commenting on the announcement that Martin Shanahan, IDA CEO is to leave his post in early 2023, Shannon Chamber has paid tribute to his efforts to attract foreign direct investment to the region.

“The Chamber was fortunate to develop a very close and successful relationship with Mr Shanahan since his appointment in 2014,” Helen Downes, Chamber CEO said.

“We found Martin to be helpful and positive in cultivating links with the Chamber and in promoting the region as an attractive location for investment. In fact, he was Guest Speaker quite recently at a Chamber event in Dromoland Castle.

“We wish him well for the future and look forward to maintaining and further developing beneficial links with his successor when appointed,” Helen concluded
