Shannon Chamber Applauds Former Director Brian Lohan’s leadership skills
Shannon Chamber is rapturous in its praise for the leadership shown by former chamber director Brian Lohan in steering the Clare senior hurling team to victory in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park yesterday.
Praising Lohan’s ability to take the team to the summit of the senior hurling calendar, President Eoin Gavin described the result as “simply amazing”.
“Brian’s understated presence is a force to be reckoned with. He is a real team leader, has earned the respect of all his players, who, as stated by captain Tony Kelly, would do anything for him. That’s the trait of a truly inspirational leader. The team pushed themselves to their absolute limits to bring the Liam MacCarthy Cup back to Co. Clare and we in Shannon Chamber, the board, executive and our 350+ member companies are so proud of their great achievement.
“It was an inspirational demonstration of pure determination to succeed and to battle through to the final whistle. It was a stand-out game. What a great team Cork were as opponents, but we are glad to be welcoming the champions back to Clare.”
Encouraging member company employees to make their way to Ennis for the homecoming ceremony being hosted by Clare County Council tonight from 6pm at the Active Ennis Tim Smythe Park (Monday, 22 July), Mr Gavin urged those travelling to Ennis to take note of the travel restrictions and road closures that will be in place to accommodate the large numbers expected to descend on Ennis.
“It will be a memorable evening. We look forward to congratulating Brian and the team in person this evening on behalf of all our members and who knows, we might even persuade him, as a former director of Shannon Chamber, to bring the Liam MacCarthy Cup to a Chamber event in the near future,” added Gavin.
