Parents and Students Encouraged to Attend Limerick for Engineering Showcase in Shannon Airport

Students with an interest in engineering as a career or those who have not yet decided on a career path are encouraged to attend the Limerick for Engineering showcase at Shannon Airport this week.

The event takes place this Thursday, March 8th, commencing at 6pm.

Companies from throughout the region will be on hand to showcase the range of products they produce and the processes involved in bringing them to market. Engineers, male and female, from these companies will be on hand to talk to students individually or as a group to give them specifics of what a career in engineering offers.

Shannon Chamber is a long-standing supporter of this annual event, which is taking place in Shannon for the first time.

We would therefore encourage our members to bring this event to the attention of staff with secondary-level students. It may be the prompt they need to look towards engineering as a career.

Equally, this event  is the ideal place for teachers from local schools to bring engineering to their students’ attention.

Local companies exhibiting at Limerick for Engineering, which takes place on Thursday, March 8th, commencing at 6pm, include:

• Molex
• Zimmer Biomet
• Modular Automation
• Intel
• Lufthansa Turbine Technik Shannon
• Jaguar Land Rover
• Smithstown Light Engineering
• Element Six
• GE Sensing
