Shannon Chamber has been made aware of a local fundraising project that perhaps may interest some companies and workforces in the area.
Aoife Sage (aged 14) from Sixmilebridge, has a rare genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) which results in severe instability in her neck and puts her at serious risk of stroke, paralysis or death.
As specialist surgery is not available to EDS patients in Ireland or the UK, her family needs to raise €100,000 in order to avail of life-saving surgery in Barcelona on September 27.
A special fundraising walk for Aoife is to be held at Shannon Free Zone on Saturday, July 14, commencing at 6 a.m. from Starbucks.
