Limerick and Clare hurlers may get a glimpse into how Tipperary managed to win the Liam McCarthy Cup this year when their manager, Michael Ryan, takes to the stage at Shannon Chamber’s annual President’s lunch, which takes place on Tuesday, 6 December in Dromoland Castle Hotel.
Ryan will be joined by Sean Flannery, general manager, GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) – where they will be interviewed by the inimitable Séamus Hennessy, broadcaster, businessman and educator on the trials and tribulations associated with leadership.
The lunch, which is being sponsored by GECAS and supported by Chamber members Snap Limerick, Career Decisions Ireland, Willis Towers Watson and Fáilte Ireland, is a departure from the norm and a format which should be well received by the business and sporting communities.
As Shannon Chamber’s chief executive Helen Downes explains: “Leadership is such a topical issue at the moment that we decided it might be a very worthwhile undertaking to invite two people who have demonstrated great leadership traits to share their views on what it takes to attain great wins. It’s quite a departure from our normal keynote speaker format but we believe it’s exactly what our members need at this time of year and should generate lively rapport among the panel and the audience.
“We are certainly looking forward to gaining some new insights as I’m sure all of our members and their guests are too. It’s a rare opportunity to hear what it takes to lead and win in the very different environments of sport, politics, and business.”
Bookings are still being taken for the lunch, which runs from 12.30pm until 2.30pm on Tuesday, 6 December 2016 – www.shannonchamber.ie/events/shannon-chamber-presidents-lunch/
