Chambers Position on Sale of Aer Lingus Remains Unchanged

In a statement issued today (Tuesday, 3 February 2015) the presidents of Ennis, Galway, Limerick and Shannon Chambers reiterated their position as presented to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications that critical air connectivity to all Irish airports, including Shannon, must be retained in any proposed sale of Aer Lingus.

“Our position is clear. Until such time as we are presented with definitive information on IAG’s plans for Aer Lingus, any further commentary would be purely speculative. In the absence of concrete plans and proposals we are not in a position to assess the opportunities or threats contained therein or to analyse if such an offer deals with the concerns of our members.”
