NOTE: The Application Date for below has been extended to 31 July 2019. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to enrol for the 2019 MBA programme at UL.
Shannon Chamber is delighted to announce that it has joined forces with the University of Limerick to offer three (3) UL MBA scholarships to its member companies. Each scholarship will cover one-third of the fees for this two-year programme. The recipients of the Shannon Chamber UL MBA Scholarships will be decided on by an open competition.
Launching the scholarship programme, Shannon Chamber CEO Helen Downes said: “The University of Limerick is an active and supportive member of our Chamber, contributing to many of our events, most particularly the annual Mid-West Lean Network conference, which is held on-campus.
“This new initiative, which strengthens our collaboration, will enable us to help three companies improve their in-house leadership skills through their participation in a programme that has the ability to generate immediate payback to the organisation.”
The UL MBA is a part-time programme, run over two years, requiring three-day block participation eight times per year.
To be considered for one of the three scholarships, member companies are required to apply directly to Shannon Chamber via email, making a short presentation on their nominee, detailing how an MBA would help them and how they would use it. Each submission must be endorsed by the CEO of the respective company, if the nominee is not the CEO.
The closing date for receipt of applications is Wednesday, 31 July 2019. Shannon Chamber will present the shortlist to the UL MBA programme director. The successful candidates will be required to complete the UL MBA application process and if successful will be offered a scholarship and a place on the programme commencing in September 2019.
UL MBA programme director, Prof. Michele O ’Dwyer, in outlining how an MBA benefits a company said: “The MBA programme is very holistic. Its innovative format and industry relevant coursework help deliver benefits employers can depend on. It covers a broad range of business perspectives, deepening an organisation’s management skills. Participants gain new perspectives and insights by working with peers from a diverse range of industries. They can apply their classroom leaning to help solve real work problems, thus putting their new knowledge to work from the outset.
“We are delighted to partner with Shannon Chamber to offer three (3) scholarships to this two-year programme and look forward to welcoming representatives from Shannon companies onto the programme in 2019.”
Applications for the Shannon Chamber UL MBA scholarships should be submitted to hdownes@shannonchamber.ie on or before Wednesday, 31 July 2019.
