The promoters of The Venue project for Shannon have been making good progress since the presentation to the Shannon Chamber CEO Forum hosted by Shannon Airport in November 2014.

Following finalisation of designs, led by Limerick based Hugh Kelly Architects, and engagement with the planning authority (Clare County Council), planning permission was received at the end of April 2015.   This involved a lot of intensive work and decision making on the design, content and layout.   Images of The Venue as it will appear when complete are included in a presentation made to a public meeting at The Oakwood Arms Hotel, Shannon, on 27 May.   The presentation is available on slideshare … and at www.facebook.com/thevenueshannon and www.shannonvenue.com .

There has been positive engagement with a number of companies following last November’s presentation.   This includes a significant funding commitment by one of the companies in attendance that day and others under discussion.   With the designs approved the next step is to secure further sizeable commitments which will enable delivery of this significant and impactful venture for Shannon.    Your support, both financial and in kind, will help to make this happen.
