Shannon Chamber welcomes additional and new connectivity to UK destinations

Shannon Chamber has welcomed the news, on the day that details of the NPF are being released, of new connectivity to and from the region.

“Increased levels of connectivity to the region generate economic activity at many levels,” said Chamber CEO Helen Downes.

“Businesses and tourism providers have long called for increased Shannon UK services; this response by way of added capacity on the Manchester route and new services to Liverpool and Bristol will open up new opportunities for business and tourism at both ends. It will give Irish companies access to new destinations in our largest export market and facilitate the flow of visitors from an untapped region in UK to the west of Ireland.

“It’s a positive development for the region and a great achievement by Shannon Airport to secure the route.  Our focus as a Chamber will be on encouraging our members to always think Shannon when flying to the UK.  It is so easy to Fly Shannon,” added Ms Downes.
