Shannon Chamber is pleased to announce the re-election of its chief executive Helen Downes to the board of Chambers Ireland.
Making the announcement, Chamber president Eoin Gavin said: “Being one of only four chambers (Shannon, Cork, Galway and County Kildare) with directorship representation on the board of the national Chamber organisation is a huge honour. It is a just recognition of the competence of our chief executive and of her ability to make a substantial strategic contribution to the governing body of Ireland’s largest business organisation.
“Representation on the board of Chambers Ireland ensures that issues impacting business at a regional level can be brought to the attention of government and actioned appropriately either through direct intervention or as part of Chambers Ireland’s’ lobbying activities.
“With an acute awareness of the contribution Shannon and the region makes to the national economy, Ms Downes will ensure that balanced regional development remains an uppermost consideration in a national context,” added Mr Gavin.
