With Shannon Chamber member companies listed as being in Shannon, Limerick in Eircode’s new postcode system, the Chamber has called on Eircode to speedily review and rectify the system and erase the confusion the new system has caused since its launch.

“Where post is sorted by An Post seems irrelevant in this instance. As shown on Eircode’s website, it should just be a matter of identifying a company by its name, street, town, and county, with the new Eircode then added. Shannon is quite clearly in Co Clare and should remain so,” said the Shannon Chamber spokesperson.

Accepting that snags can attain to rolling out a new system, the Shannon Chamber spokesperson called on Eircode to give the matter priority attention and correct the errors in the database.

“Companies are working hard to sustain their linkages with customers and suppliers. Any source of information on a business in Shannon should therefore clearly show its correct address and location as being in Co Clare, and not Limerick. We would earnestly call on Eircode to adjust their database accordingly.”
