“The provision of advance office accommodation at Shannon Free Zone is a timely addition to the region’s infrastructure, with office space at a premium and a challenge nationally,” said Shannon Chamber CEO Helen Downes, welcoming the announcement by Shannon Commercial Properties that construction is to commence on the delivery of a new €10million, 55,000 state-of-the-art office block at Shannon Free Zone.

“While speculative build may have been a risk during the downturn, the time is now right to have occupancy-ready facilities to attract new inward investment or indigenous companies seeking to operate from Co Clare.

“In a recent interview for our iZone magazine, IDA’s business and relationship development manager Niall O’Callaghan referred to the fact that a lot of companies looking at the region are very time conscious and need a solution within 18 months to a year. The fact that this building will be ready for occupancy by May 2018 gives IDA a very tangible product to take to the marketplace.

“Construction of this nature sends will send out a very strong and positive message that Shannon, and the Mid-West region, is responding to market needs and is seriously determined to add to the cohort of the over 100 companies who are successfully trading globally from Shannon. Shannon Chamber will play its part in disseminating this message to a global audience,” added Ms Downes.
