N/M20 Cork to Limerick – Business User Survey

On behalf of the N/M20 Project Coordinator in the Mid West National Road Design Office, Limerick City & County Council, Shannon Chamber would like to encourage all members to complete a business user survey prepared and hosted by Economic Consultants EY-DKM.  The survey link below will remain open until Friday, 24th July.

The purpose of this survey is to obtain a more detailed understanding of what benefits are likely to occur to businesses along the proposed transport corridor. This will be used to help inform decisions regarding route choices as well as to support the business case to obtain suitable government funding. It is being circulated to members of the Chambers of Commerce in the South and West regions and we would encourage responses from all types and sizes of business.

A similar business survey on the project was commissioned in 2017 by Cork and Limerick Chambers. The valuable feedback from this survey enabled the publication of the economic report Gearing up for M20: A Route to Success, which successfully supported the recommencement of the project with its subsequent inclusion in the National Development Plan 2018-2027.  The economic assessment carried out by Cork and Limerick Chambers will be further developed to reflect the responses to this business user survey thereby including the wider business community in the consultation process.

The overarching project objective of the N/M20 Cork to Limerick is:

To enable national and regional planning policies, particularly those supporting the National Strategic Outcomes of the National Planning Framework to promote balanced regional development, through enhanced population and economic growth.

This is to be achieved by improving connectivity between the cities of Cork and Limerick, and ultimately Galway, by:

  • facilitating the safe and efficient movement of people, goods and services on the transport network both now and in the future
  • reduced land transport journey times
  • improved journey time reliability

Shannon Chamber would therefore encourage all members to complete the survey.

Many thanks
