Shannon based Modular Automation, a leader in the design, manufacture and installation of technologically smart automation solutions for global manufacturing clients recently announced a €2million investment in a new facility to cater for increasing demand for its innovative automation solutions.

The expansion will also generate 30 new engineering positions, ranging from apprenticeships to junior and senior level engineering roles.  Full details about these exciting opportunities can be found on the company’s website – www.modularautomation.ie/index.php/careers

Welcoming this news, Shannon Chamber’s chief executive Helen Downes said: “Job announcements, when accompanied by an expansion in an operating facility, demonstrate a company’s commitment to embedding itself more into the Shannon business community. Modular Automation, which set up in 1986 has twice doubled its operating capacity at Shannon, first in 1997 when it constructed a purpose-built facility and then doubling that to 25,000 sq. ft. in 2001. This new expansion, which will see the company’s Shannon footprint increase to 47,000 sq. ft. over the next couple of months, is a further endorsement of the company’s commitment to Shannon.

“This is also good news for job seekers with an engineering qualification and/or good engineering experience. It opens up an opportunity to work in a dynamic workplace as part of project teams, thus enabling them to gain unique experience and exposure to all aspects of a project including design, software control, electrical, build, installation and more,” added Ms Downes.
