Holiday Show makes Limerick return

The Fly Shannon Holiday Show is making a welcome return to the UL Sport Arena in Limerick on February 20th and 21st, after a 9 year hiatus.

Visitors to the show will be able to take advantage of free entry, along with deals only available at the show, prize draws and entertainment across the weekend. A whole variety of holiday tastes will be catered for. Holidaymakers will find stands offering adventure holidays, camping holidays, coach tours, wedding and honeymoon options, theme park excursions and over 55’s holidays to name but a few.

“We have had a break of 9 years before we returned to the Shannon region but we won’t be staying away for so long in the future” said Edmund Hourican whose Business Exhibitions company stages the annual “Holiday World” showcase in Dublin and Belfast.

“The Fly Shannon Holiday Show has always been a big crowd-puller in the past but even more important is the very strong growth of holiday traffic out of Shannon which is making the Fly Shannon Holiday Show a must for the big name destinations, operators and airlines” Edmund Hourican explained. “Holidaymakers are more discerning than ever when it comes to choosing the right package for their holiday, and the Fly Shannon Holiday Show will allow them to speak directly to suppliers in order to get the best deal possible. We’re expecting a great turnout across the two days, and hopefully the 2016 event will be the first of many years to come,” he added.

His comments are endorsed by Declan Power, Head of Aviation Development with Shannon Airport which has been the clinching influence in bringing the Holiday Show back again.

“There are over 150,000 reasons for the return of the country’s travel showpiece to the region, after an absence of nine years, that’s the number of seats to sun holiday destinations available from Shannon in 2016. The Fly Shannon Holiday Show is timed to coincide with rapid growth in services, both long and short haul, from Shannon Airport. Shannon was Ireland’s fastest growing airport in 2014 and remains one of Europe’s most important gateways to the North Atlantic. The show will highlight Shannon Airport’s customer friendly features, ease of access, parking facilities and enhancements such as full US pre-clearance, revamped Shannon Duty Free and a stress-free alternative travel option for people from the West of Ireland” he concluded.
