In recent times, as I’ve talked to more and more people about what it is we do, the idea of being able to encapsulate the answer in a short video…something to efficiently and professionally tell our story in a fraction of the time it would take me to do so.
Then I stumbled upon the concept of explainer videos. Not only will an explainer video make me pitch perfect every time, with a very efficient use of what can be limited time, but apparently it also can give me better Google results and increased customer conversion rates….what’s not to like? No sooner had I stumbled upon the concept of explainer videos when I stumbled upon a real specialist in this field. Geoff Allen who runs a company called 3MS in Athlone is doing brilliant stuff in this space. Not only that but he is also creating waves in Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR).
Earlier this year, we at CW Applied Technology started a series of events geared at sharing knowledge on interesting (to us anyway) subjects…we had 3D Technology from Galway in for example to present to an open (to the public that is) session on a Saturday morning here on the subject of 3D Printing (what else). Another session saw Microchip present on the latest electronics developments. Having been the beneficiary of some great conversations with Geoff over the past 10 months or so, I thought why not invite Geoff in to present at one of these sessions? So that’s what I’ve done.
On Nov. 18th running from 10am to 12 noon in our creative space here in Shannon, Geoff will talk about what he does from explainer videos right through AR and VR. (Also, plenty of time and encouragement for Q & A). He says he will bring along some of his Virtual Reality gear as well which could get very interesting.
