Mid-West Lean Network Workshop: Exploring 6S and the Lean Journey at Ei Electronics

DATE: 20/10/2026

TIME: 8:30 am - 11:30 am

VENUE: Centre of Excellence, Ei Electronics, Shannon Industrial Estate, Shannon

Join us for an engaging session hosted in partnership with Ei Electronics, exploring their lean journey with a focus on 6S and continuous improvement.

At Ei Electronics, continuous improvement is a key part of our culture and a fundamental driver of manufacturing excellence. Through a lean manufacturing approach embedded across the business since the 1990s, we continuously challenge existing processes, eliminate waste, and optimise production performance. By empowering employees to identify opportunities for improvement, simplify workflows, enhance standard work, and implement practical automation solutions, Ei has created a culture where continuous improvement is everyone’s responsibility. This focus on manufacturing optimisation has helped improve efficiency, quality and operational performance across our production operations.

This workshop will explore how culture, leadership, 6S, and the power of small incremental improvements support the ongoing evolution of our manufacturing systems. Participants will gain practical insights into Ei’s lean journey and overall manufacturing excellence and a site tour.

The Mid-West Lean Network: the second largest regional lean network in Ireland, after Waterford Institute of Technology’s Lean Enterprise Excellence Group, launched in November, was set up to strengthen and increase the existing culture of lean within the Shannon and the wider Mid-West region. Its aim is to enable each industry to broaden and strengthen their competitiveness through knowledge sharing and bench-marking against each other and different industries.
