Shannon Chamber, in conjunction with Shannon Commercial Properties and the Community Policing unit in Shannon Garda Station, is re-launching a Business Watch scheme in Shannon.
This crime prevention programme, designed by An Garda Siochana, is similar to the Neighbourhood Watch and Community Alert scheme, whereby the Gardai and the community come together to prevent and reduce crime; in this instance, the Business Watch scheme’s focus is the business community in the wider Shannon area.
Business Watch Shannon will provide a framework to enable the business community to join together and be instrumental in preventing crime in our community. Through awareness and observation, businesses can become extra ‘eyes and ears’ of the Gardai and act as ‘Watchmen’ to their own and neighbouring premises in the prevention of crime.
Shannon Chamber is delighted to be associated with this initiative and invites your company to attend the launch and become a Business Watch member. This simply means being alert, aware, and being a good neighbour by reporting anything you regard as criminally remiss in your area.
