Drivers of Growth in Tourism to be Examined at Shannon Chamber Seminar

Last May, Fáilte Ireland’s Tourism Barometer pointed to a year of expected growth in the tourism sector, with improvements in the Irish economy contributing to this growing optimism. Has this happened and if so, what is driving this growth and, how is the Mid-West performing?

These are some of the questions that will be addressed at a fast-paced interactive breakfast seminar which Shannon Chamber is organising in conjunction with Grant Thornton. The seminar takes place on Thursday, 29 October in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ennis Road, Limerick from 7.45am to 10.30am.

A panel on experts from a range of tourism segments will make presentations on a range of pertinent topics such as tourism infrastructure, product and sources of finance nationally and internationally, and strategies for growth, before partaking in a panel discussion and responding to audience questions. The panel of  speakers from the Mid-West includes Neil Pakey, CEO, Shannon Group plc., Gearoid Costelloe, partner and Neil O’Dwyer, director, Grant Thornton, Mark Nolan, general manager, Dromoland Castle Hotel, while Fáilte Ireland chairman Michael Cawley will outline how the sector is performing generally and what more can be done along the west coast to boost tourism numbers and activity.

Owners, operators and managers in the hospitality and tourism sectors will find this seminar, which commences with a light breakfast at 7.45am, both informative and beneficial. The Seminar will conclude at 10.30am
