Milford Care Centre is asking the public throughout North Tipperary to consider donating goods for the many stalls that will be in situ at the forthcoming Milford Hospice Harvest Fair, which takes place in the University of Limerick (UL) Sports Arena on Sunday, 1st September from 11am to 5pm.
The range of items being sought for the stalls includes fancy goods, toys, handbags and scarves, cakes, jams and groceries, bottles, plants and additional items for the Wheel of Fortune. All goods will be checked for quality before being accepted to minimise the major costs involved with the disposal of unsalable items. Electrical goods or furniture cannot be accepted.
Items can be dropped off at the designated collection area at Milford Hospice, which will be signposted, between 09.30am and 8.00pm from Monday, 19th August right through to Wednesday 28th August. Books will only be accepted up to Friday, 23rd August. Confectionary items will be accepted on the morning of the Harvest Fair.
This very popular annual Fair is an ideal family day out and, in addition to the stalls, features a food court and live entertainment, with a Grand Raffle taking place at 3pm at the entrance to the Arena. Top prizes include a €1,000 One 4All Gift voucher, a domestic CCTV System valued at €900, a €410 LGTV 43”Smart TV, a €400 Dyson Handheld Cordless, a €250 oil/fuel voucher, and a €200 Morphy Richards Health Fryer. Details and tickets for this draw will be at the grand raffle stand beside the book stall.
The Harvest Fair is Milford Hospice’s single largest fundraising event. Chief Executive Pat Quinlan said that he continues to be amazed and delighted at the huge number of people who attend the fundraiser.
“There is tremendous goodwill towards Milford Hospice and this is most affirming and strengthens our resolve to deliver the best service we can to the people of the Mid-West, which is no less than they deserve,” Mr Quinlan said.
The Harvest Fair Committee is appealing for volunteers to work with them on the day, whether helping with traffic, on the stalls or stewarding; your assistance will be greatly appreciated. Please contact the Fundraising Department to register your interest in becoming a volunteer on the day.
