Corporate Social Responsibility Opportunity for Clare Companies

For the past 13 years, Chambers Ireland has been running the very successful Corporate Social Responsibility Awards (CSR) which recognise the significant contribution that Irish business makes to society through CSR practices.

The importance of CSR has increased in recent years and has become a mainstream business activity in Ireland. These annual CSR Awards recognise and celebrate the important contribution that CSR practices make to our economy and society.

A project worth consideration as a CSR undertaking by Shannon Chamber members is Clare Youth Service (CYS). Founded in 1969 as a registered charity, CYS has been delivering a range of programmes and support to young people throughout County Clare.

Outside of a network of over 30 youth clubs and groups which would have been the traditional function of CYS, the focus is now very much on a range of projects such as:

  • Garda youth diversion projects
  • Full-time certified education and training projects
  • Personal development, youth leadership## and mental health programmes
  • Youth voices being heard

The work of CYS is very much focussed on a sector of the population  which represents the future of the country and is very important and rewarding work.
