Congrats to Shannon Springs Hotel on All-Ireland award

Shannon Chamber congratulates the Shannon Springs Hotel on winning an All-Ireland award at the recent Irish Hotel Awards 2019 ceremony held in Galway, when it was declared as the ‘Airport Hotel of the Year’.

A member of the hotel’s kitchen team, Mark Amoah, also won a ‘Star Award’ for ‘Kitchen Porter of the Year’ in Galway.

The deluxe 3-star Shannon Springs Hotel employs 50 full-time staff and has injected €500,000 in a major refurbishment programme over the past few months. This has seen an upgrade of 20 bedrooms to executive level, with air conditioning installed – the only hotel in Shannon with such facilities.

The hotel has also completed a new public bathroom linked to its Bar and Vintage Themed Beer Garden, and has further plans in the pipeline for later in the year.

“The owner-directors of Shannon Springs Hotel, Dermot Kelly and John Gavin, have shown tremendous entrepreneurship and dedication in developing the hotel as a quality, customer-orientated facility over the past three years,” said Helen Downes, Shannon Chamber CEO.

“In addition to offering a friendly and top-class service to corporate and local family customers, including AA Rosette award-wining food daily, the promoters have given great sponsorship support to local sporting, theatrical and other groups.

“This award is deserved recognition for the efforts of the promoters and all staff involved in providing this much-needed amenity in the Shannon area, which adds greatly to Shannon’s appeal as a vibrant community,” Helen added.
