In response to members’ requests for a return visit by world-renowned guru on scaling up a business Verne Harnish, Shannon Chamber has organised a two-day ‘Scaling Up’ workshop, in association with Enterprise Ireland and with the support of Shannon Chamber Skillnet.
The workshop, which will be held in Dromoland Castle Hotel on 11 and 12 May, will focus on four key metrics against which a company needs to assess its performance: people, strategy, execution, and cash.
Verne Harnish, a best-selling author and renowned expert in business and entrepreneurship, will share tools to help businesses navigate the right decisions in each of these critical areas of business. CEOs and their senior executive teams will learn how to master the Scaling Up framework (Rockefeller Habits 2.0), which has already empowered more than 40,000 executives to overcome the barriers of scaling up.
Chamber CEO Helen Downes explains: “The feedback we received for the last seminar we held with Verne Harnish in 2019 was exceptional with attendees describing the takeaways as inspirational and the Rockefeller Habits framework an incredibly powerful and transformative set of business tools. Attending the event has inspired many companies in the region to scale their businesses.
“We had a burning ambition to bring Verne Harnish back for a more intensive session as we were truly amazed at his immeasurable insights, his energy for sharing knowledge and his interest in seeing companies grow from mice, as he put it, to elephants. We want to see more elephants grow here in the Mid-West region and indeed, in Ireland.
“As we were oversubscribed in 2019, we were delighted to secure Verne for two days this year which means that the workshop will be more in-depth and will accommodate more interaction, collaboration, and networking.”
Leo Clancy, CEO, Enterprise Ireland, said: “Supporting Irish businesses on their scaling journey is a key priority for Enterprise Ireland and is an important element of our new strategy ‘Leading in a Changing World’. Enterprise Ireland is committed to supporting companies to grow and achieve leading positions in global markets. We are excited to partner with Shannon Chamber for this event, where so many enthusiastic business leaders and entrepreneurs can learn and develop new skills to support their future development.”
CEO of Atlantic Aviation Group, Shane O’Neill, who has attended several Scaling Up workshops, says the company benefitted greatly from attending the workshop in Dromoland in 2019.
“It equipped our team with best-in-class tools and skills to develop and execute a definitive strategy and get everyone aligned. It totally re-energised the team and has helped us to successfully scale the business.”
While places for this high calibre workshop are being snapped up and capacity at Dromoland Castle Hotel is limited, bookings can still be made via www.shannonchamber.ie/events-training/
