Are you ready for micro-credentials?

The micro-credential movement is gaining momentum across the globe. A consortium of five Skillnet networks and the National Institute for Digital Learning (NIDL) in DCU are conducting the first national survey of employer and employee perceptions of micro-credentials in Ireland.

We would like to invite you to complete this survey on behalf of your company or organisation &/or as an individual employee.

Micro-credentials are units of learning that are significantly smaller than traditional forms of accredited learning (such as diplomas or degrees). They have the potential to address key skills gaps and support Ireland’s recovery from the Covid-19 crisis.

The survey, which has received ethical approval from DCU’s Research Ethics Committee (DCUREC/2020/151), is anonymous and should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. It has two routes, one for employers (those answering on behalf of a company/ organisation) and one for employees.

Your responses will inform the development of a framework for recognising micro-credentials in the workplace, which has the potential to transform life-long learning practices. As such, your contribution is most welcome, even if you have never heard of the term before!
