Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply for impacted customers in Shannon, Co. Clare

Sunday, 25 May 2025: Uisce Éireann is working to restore water supply as quickly as possible to impacted customers in Cronan Park and surrounding areas in Shannon following a burst watermain.

Uisce Éireann’s Darragh Conneely said “We would like to assure customers that every effort is being made to restore water supply as quickly as possible. We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their patience.”

Up to 500 properties may be impacted. The current estimated restoration time is mid-day tomorrow, Monday 26 May.

As per best practice, most homes and businesses will have on-site water storage to provide a backup source of water for sanitation purposes. Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications from us for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours. To register as a vulnerable customer or as an alternative contact, visit our Vulnerable Customers page.
