Muintir na Tíre
The national association for community development, founded in 1937. Muintir na Tíre aims to enhance the capacities of people in communities, rural and urban, to become involved in local social, economic, cultural and environmental development.
Services:
– Runs Community Alert programme in partnership with An Garda Síochána, supporting over 1,400 groups. As part of this, supports Text Alert programme.
– Supports over 200 Community Councils throughout the country.
– Offers support to groups in governance, training, grants, etc.
– Delivers other programmes such as Message in a Bottle, Text Alert Rebates, etc.
