Headquartered in Shannon, Ei Electronics manufactures Home Life Safety Devices for the Connected Home. The Company is an exemplar indigenous Irish manufacturing and exporting success story, which has grown significantly over its 40-year lifespan, now employing 1,100 at its Global HQ in Shannon and 1,250 worldwide. Its Shannon facility is responsible for the manufacture of 13 million devices in total per annum, 95% of which is exported globally, generating a turnover of €400 million.
Its unique vertically integrated manufacturing facility produces 17 million printed circuit boards and 150 million plastic parts, which are used in the assembly of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, environmental sensors, and accessories. This is achieved via 90 assembly cells based on lean manufacturing principles.
