Description

An interactive event designed for Parents and Children together in response to Covid 19

Keeping sane working from home. Parents and Children together

Join Eibhlin Johnston, Founder of the Resiliency Hub share her insights in an interactive and insightful conversation with Debbie Fisher, Founding Trustee and Facilitator of IHeart.

Nothing is the same. Our children’s’ lives and working lives have suddenly been turned upside down. We are learning to adapt and cope with the suddenness and uncertainty of the change as well as keeping calm as we navigate the uncertainty. We all have an inner resilience within us and an ability to come back to centre. Now, for the first time in modern living we have all been put in time out. Our oversubscribed lives have come to a sudden halt. This talk is designed to help parents and children work together and communicate better. It will provide practical tips for both parents and their children.

Who is this talk for?

Parents and children whose lives are turned upside down and who are struggling to be resilient and calm

1,200 people from over 25 countries, including mental health experts, educators, parents and young people from around the world signed up for London-based mental health charity IHEART’s (Innate Health Education and Resilience Training) FREE two-day virtual conference ‘Finding Emotional Freedom in Lockdown’ in early April.  This Virtual event was designed to help parents, families and educators to help themselves – and others – navigate the uncertain and unchartered waters of the covid-19 pandemic.   The topics covered included; dealing with fear and stress, finding wellbeing in the face of loss and trauma, keeping the kids sane during lockdown and helping them to cope with the stress of leaving school suddenly.

Debbie Fisher delivered two thought-provoking presentations during the event  – A Relationships Workshop and “Helping our children navigate this new reality”  She says  “Schools may have closed down, but we are now in the school of life and life is teaching us where our wellbeing actually resides,” “This is a wonderful learning opportunity for all of us.”  The pandemic provides the opportunity to learn about our own innate resilience.  She will share some of the key points and findings and respond to any questions that the audience will have.
