Germany and Ireland share a thriving business relationship and exhibit many parallels.

As of 2022, Germany was the world’s fourth-largest economy, with its GDP estimated at over €4 trillion, while Ireland’s GDP stood at approximately €503 billion in the same year.

Known for its strong manufacturing and export-driven economy, Germany is one of the world’s most globalised economies. Ireland, similarly, is heavily globalized with robust trading connections worldwide.

Germany’s population is around 83 million people, significantly larger than Ireland’s 5.1 million.

In the 2023 Global Competitiveness Index published by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Ireland was ranked as the second most competitive economy among 64 nations surveyed, a significant leap from 11th in 2022. Germany, known for its high levels of innovation and productivity, held a strong position in the same survey, reflecting the strength of its economy.

Germany and Ireland boast diverse and advanced economies today, presenting numerous trade opportunities.
