Description

Assessing the external environment has always been an intrinsic part of business strategy, understanding and planning for uncontrollable factors that may impact a business. Planning for, coping with, and working through a pandemic is one such external factor that has changed the way many businesses operate. Another critical external factor is climate change and developing strategies to reduce corporate carbon footprint.

Do you know the extent of your company’s carbon emissions?

Have you plans in place to decrease such environmental impact across your operations?

Is carbon neutrality a goal with your organisation, or should it?

During this workshop:

1. Neil Cremin, Business Management and Lean Systems Advisor at CREM Ltd and Chemical Surface Treatments Specialist at CSTT will set out the reasons your company should now be focusing on measuring and reducing the carbon footprint of your organisation and encouraging your suppliers to do likewise.

2. Zimmer Biomet – A case study on ‘The Paperless Shop Floor’.
          a. Claude Costelloe – General Manager of Zimmer Biomet will give a top-level overview of the strategic approach they are taking to reduce their carbon footprint.
          b. Rob Geary – Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Leader will outline how the organisation introduced MES to enable a paperless shop floor, the deployment strategy and the benefits to the business.

3. Suzanne Fehily, Global Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager at AMCS Group will outline why AMCS wants to start this journey and the benefits she feels it will deliver to the company at many levels.

This session is Free of Charge, but registrations is essential.

The Mid-West Lean Network: the second largest regional lean network in Ireland, after Waterford Institute of Technology’s Lean Enterprise Excellence Group, launched in November, was set up to strengthen and increase the existing culture of lean within the Shannon and the wider Mid-West region. Its aim is to enable each industry to broaden and strengthen their competitiveness through knowledge sharing and bench-marking against each other and different industries.
