Join Willis Towers Watson and the Shannon Chamber of Commerce for an exclusive breakfast roundtable briefing featuring expert insights from the National Cyber Security Centre.
In today’s rapidly evolving digital environment, cybersecurity has become a strategic business priority. It’s no longer confined to IT departments, it demands the attention of business owners, senior executives, risk managers, and compliance leaders alike. Effectively identifying, assessing, quantifying, and mitigating cyber risk is essential not only for regulatory compliance, but also for ensuring business continuity, safeguarding organisational resilience, and reducing exposure to personal liability, litigation, and financial penalties.
This session is designed for leaders across finance, risk, insurance, cybersecurity, IT, HR and digital compliance. Attendees will gain practical guidance on navigating the latest cybersecurity challenges, understanding regulatory frameworks such as the NIS2 Directive (Network and Information Systems Directive 2), and implementing best practices in cyber risk management to strengthen their organisation’s resilience. Concretely:
- The Garda Síochána will present real-world cybersecurity and cybercrime incidents that have occurred locally, offering insights into how affected organisations responded and what lessons were learned.
- AIG will provide a perspective on today’s most pressing cyber threats and explain how cyber insurance can serve as a critical component in closing the loop of a comprehensive cyber risk management strategy.
- Paul Stanley, Head of Engagement at the National Cyber Security Centre, will offer practical guidance on implementing effective cybersecurity measures and aligning with regulatory expectations under the NIS2 Directive.
- Fernando Sevillano, Head of Cyber & Tech Consulting for Western Europe at Willis Towers Watson, will lead a deep dive into how organisations can conduct both qualitative and quantitative cyber risk assessments. He will outline how these approaches support compliance with NIS2 obligations and enable informed decisions around mitigation and risk transfer strategies.
Registration and networking is from 8.30am.
1-to-1 sessions with the Fernando Sevillano from WTW are available from 10:45 AM, please express your interest in advance via email to Lijana at lkizaite@shannonchamber.ie to secure a slot.
