Description

Employment Law – amendments, developments and the significant changes arising out of the Workplace Relations Act

In collaboration with Adare Human Resource Management

HR Professionals, Business Owners and Managers are all too aware of the on-going challenges in the area of Employment Law. With the changes to existing legislation, new Acts being introduced and the sheer volume of case law, it can be extremely difficult for any Organisation to keep on top.

This is against the backdrop of the recently published Workplace Relations Act which will introduce significant changes from 1st October relating to the State’s employment appeals and dispute resolution services and institutions. The legislation provides for the orderly wind down of the Labour Relations Commission (LRC), NERA, Employment Appeals Tribunal (EAT) and the Equality Tribunal and the transfer of the services of the LRC, NERA and the Equality Tribunal together with the first instance functions of the EAT and the Labour Court to the Workplace Relations Commission. The appellate functions of the EAT will be amalgamated into a reconfigured Labour Court. This will significantly impact HR practitioners, solicitors and Employers.

Our breakfast briefing will cover

  • An update on amendments to existing Employment Legislation and planned changes to the current Legislation
  • The most important lessons learnt from recent Employment Case Law – from disciplinary to bullying, redundancy to compulsory retirement ages
  • The impact of the changes arising out of the Workplace Relations Act and what this means for Employers

Time will be allocated throughout and at the end for Q&A.
