This workshop will enable a comprehensive understanding of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and its potential to act as a catalyst for enhanced sustainability practices within organisations. Attendees will gain insights into the requirements of the CSRD, its impact on reporting processes, and how it can drive substantive change in corporate sustainability strategies. The workshop will include a case study presentation and time for questions and experience sharing.

Objectives:

  1. To demystify the key components and compliance requirements of the CSRD.
  2. To explore practical steps for integrating CSRD into existing sustainability strategies effectively.
  3. To discuss the role of CSRD in fostering greater transparency and accountability in corporate sustainability efforts.
  4. To identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in sustainability practices prompted by CSRD mandates, including climate transition planning and the challenges associated with Net Zero.

Meet the Speakers:

 

Bruce Harper:

Senior Sustainability Consultant, Antaris Consulting

With a background in environmental engineering and policy development, Bruce is passionate about communicating the need to decarbonise business activities and enjoys helping companies make transformative changes to address the climate challenge, protect and enhance biodiversity and embrace the circular economy.

A specialist in industrial emissions, Bruce has deep sectoral knowledge gained over a varied career, from setting licence conditions as a licensing Inspector with the Environmental Protection Agency, to writing regulations and developing guidance for regulators and operators as an Environmental Policy Advisor in the Department of the Environment Northern Ireland. Bruce is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, with a BSc in Engineering with Management, and a master’s degree in environmental engineering.

He is a member of Engineers Ireland.

 

 

Geoff Dooley:

Head of Sustainability Services, Antaris Consulting

Geoff supports organisations to align with the rapidly evolving ESG context while integrating stakeholder needs and expectations. Geoff is an experienced Strategic Advisor and Facilitator with a track record of leading change in the environmental services, corporate, social enterprise, government, and not-for-profit sectors. With a track record of working in complex and ambiguous environments, Geoff combines his experience and intuition to help leaders and their organisations navigate a sustainable path forward. Most recently, he facilitated the development of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Impacts and Adaptation Strategy and he is the 2023/24 chair of the Sustainable Development Goals National Stakeholder Forum.

Geoff holds a primary degree in Environmental Science, an MBA, an MSc in Finance, a Level 9 Diploma in Executive Coaching, and a Diploma in Company Direction.

He is a Nuffield Scholar and a member of the Institute of Directors.
