ELFC move ‘highly significant’ for Shannon – Chamber CEO

“Engine Lease Finance Corporation’s occupation of its newly refurbished, €4m headquarters on the Shannon Free Zone, which was completed by the landlord, Shannon Commercial Properties, is highly significant for Shannon for a number of reasons,” said Helen Downes, Shannon Chamber CEO.

“The fact that ELFC, a subsidiary of a leading global company, Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance, has reinforced its strong commitment to Shannon by commissioning this upgrade to coincide with its 30th anniversary in Shannon is a strong endorsement of the area’s appeal as an industrial base,” she said.

In leasing engines to airlines and customers all over the world from Shannon, ELFC has also demonstrated how the Free Zone is ideally placed to cater for the most sophisticated global trading firms in aviation and other sectors, Ms Downes added.

“This refurbishment carried out by Shannon Commercial Properties is a further example of the concerted effort by the company to provide facilities at Shannon Free Zone to cater for the needs of modern enterprises – over €40m has been invested since 2014 in building or refurbishing about 650,000 sq ft of office and industrial space at the Zone,” she stressed.
