Clare Association Dublin Announces 2025 Award Recipients
The Clare Association Dublin is delighted to announce the recipients of its two highest honours for 2025. This year’s awards will be presented at the Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday, 6th September 2025, at the Falls Hotel, Ennistymon.
Clare Person of the Year 2025 – Mary Considine
Mary Considine, CEO of The Shannon Airport Group and a native of Lissycasey, has been named Clare Person of the Year for 2025.
Mary has demonstrated outstanding leadership in Irish aviation and regional development. As the first female CEO of Shannon Airport, she has successfully guided the organisation through periods of challenge and growth, securing its long-term sustainability and its strategic importance to the West of Ireland.
Under her leadership, Shannon has evolved into a vital economic driver for both Clare and the wider region. Her commitment to innovation, balanced regional development, and community partnership makes her a true trailblazer and a proud ambassador for County Clare.
Hall of Fame 2025 – Professor Michael Kerin
The Association is also proud to induct Professor Michael Kerin into its Hall of Fame, recognising his extraordinary career in cancer surgery, research, and education.
Originally from Kilnamona, Professor Kerin is Chair of Surgery at the University of Galway, Clinical Director of the Saolta Cancer Academic Network, and Vice-President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In 2024, he was conferred with a Doctor of Science (DSc) by the National University of Ireland in recognition of his published research in breast cancer.
As Research Director of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute and a leader at the Lambe Institute for Translational Science, Professor Kerin has contributed to over 450 peer-reviewed papers, mentored more than 50 MD and PhD students, and helped shape national and international cancer care policy.
“This year’s awardees embody the very best of Clare—vision, leadership, service, and excellence,” said Ciarán O’Connell, Chairperson of the Clare Association Dublin.

The Annual Awards Dinner is a highlight of the Clare calendar, bringing together members of the Clare diaspora, friends, family, and supporters. The evening includes a drinks reception, three-course dinner, live music, and tributes to both awardees.
