Beauty Industry Invited to Information Events on New National Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship
Ennis, Co. Clare – May 2026 – Salon and spa owners, beauty industry employers and professionals are invited to attend one of two National Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship Information Events, taking place at
College of Further Education and Training, Ennis Campus, later this month. These free events will introduce the National Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship, a new QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Beauty Therapy, with a pilot group due to commence at the Ennis Campus in August 2026. The apprenticeship offers a practical, fully funded pathway to develop, train and retain skilled beauty therapists aligned with modern industry standards.

About the Apprenticeship Programme
The National Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship leads to a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Beauty Therapy and is delivered over a minimum of 28 months at no cost to employers or apprentices.
• Start date: 24 August 2026
• Delivery model:
o Initial three-week block release in college
o Ongoing programme of two days in college and three days in the workplace per week
The programme is designed to develop skilled, confident beauty therapists who can work independently, deliver a wide range of services, use modern technologies safely and meet recognised professional
standards. Employers benefit from a structured training model, a motivated employee embedded in their business for three days per week, and a €2,000 grant per apprentice per year.
