Ei has been manufacturing on the same site in Shannon since 1963. Over the years the Campus has been expanded and upgraded. Today, the 14 Acre Campus comprises a mix of the original buildings and a more recent Near Zero Energy Rated Building (NZEB) – in total 33,000m2.
The site tour will detail the energy saving and sustainable technologies already implemented including Solar PV, Heat Pumps, Rain Water Harvesting, LED lighting, Air Handling Units and Power Purchasing Agreement (PPA).
It will also showcase ‘before’ and ‘after’ scenarios – highlighting the transformation from the original 1960s buildings to recently refurbished and upgraded low energy manufacturing units and offices.
