Software Solution developed in Clare receives international recognition

A risk management software solution developed in Co. Clare, Ireland has been shortlisted for one of the most prestigious awards in its field.

CalQRisk, a browser-based application created by Shannon-based SME LinkResQ, has been nominated in the “Risk Management Solution of the Year” category, at the Global Risk Awards.

The awards, which are organised by the Institute of Risk Management, London, pits CalQRisk against some of the biggest names in the business, including Zurich Insurance and Agiliance.

“This is like the Oscars for the risk management industry and to have been shortlisted is a tremendous achievement for us”, said LinkResQ CTO Gerard Joyce.

CalQRisk was launched in 2010 by Gerard Joyce and Paul O’Brien, and since then has grown to become an innovative player in the industry with an established client base in the Aviation, Credit Union, Care Home, Education and Asset Management sectors.

CalQRisk, which is now garnering international recognition, is a risk management information system developed specifically to address the growing need to effectively manage risk in a holistic and consistent manner throughout an enterprise. It closely follows the principles & guidelines described in the ISO 31000:2009 risk management standard and is designed to integrate into overall business needs. It is an enterprise risk management process in a software package.

“We started our journey to develop a tool to manage enterprise risk but have arrived at a point where we have a fully integrated business excellence process in a package that is intuitive to use and where the output is visible to stakeholders throughout the organisation. Users love it, and their feedback has informed much of the roadmap of our journey to a complete “soup to nuts” solution.” Paul O’Brien, MD, LinkResQ Ltd.

The awards will take place in March 2016 in London and features nominees from all over the world, including the US, UK, Australia, India and Indonesia.
