In an effort to assist companies in the Mid-West reduce their energy costs, Shannon Chamber has linked up with commercial energy engineering company, Clare Energy, and Enterprise Ireland to host the inaugural Mid-West Energy Forum.

This forum, which will take place at Shannon Airport Viewing Gallery on Tuesday, 14 April, will commence at 7.00am and conclude at 8.30am. This early start time has been chosen to enable companies, SMEs and multinationals, who typically start work early, to attend this very pertinent briefing. The event will also be streamed live online via Webinar.

Keynote speakers at the event, Lorcan Hassett of Clare Energy and Kathleen O’Rourke, environmental advisor with Enterprise Ireland will show companies how they can make day-to-day savings in their energy consumption.

They will also outline how companies can work towards attaining the ISO50001 energy standard, a requirement to help the EU reach its 20% energy efficiency target by 2020. Under this Directive, all EU countries, including Ireland, are required to use energy more efficiently at all stages of the energy chain from its production to its final consumption.

As Shannon Chamber’s chief executive Helen Downes says: “Energy is a huge overhead in business with most managers actively looking at ways to reduce its usage. This briefing will therefore be of immense benefit to plant managers, energy engineers, facilities managers, finance managers and any professional with an interest in saving money for their business

“The event will also incorporate a number of exhibitor stands showcasing LED, insulation, wood pellet, heating controls, interior fit-out, computer and IT solutions that can generate significant energy savings enabling delegates to engage directly with the best local energy efficiency suppliers. Hosting this forum is our way of getting companies to focus on how and where they can reduce their energy costs.

“The event is free of charge with the award winning Suas Coffee Company from Ennis providing the highest quality local coffee, cappuccinos, pastries and brownies to delegates on the day.”
