Newly Appointed IDA Ireland Mid-West Region Manager to Present at Shannon Chamber Lunch

Conscious that Shannon and the greater Shannon region faces competition at national and international levels for new inward investment projects, Shannon Chamber has invited IDA Ireland’s newly appointed business and relationship manager for the Mid-West region, Niall O’Callaghan, to address a business lunch in Dromoland Castle Hotel on Tuesday, 24 May.

The purpose of the lunch, which is being sponsored by Shannon Commercial Properties, is to outline how the Mid-West region fares as an international investment location and how IDA Ireland works towards securing and retaining investment for regions within Ireland.

Speaking ahead of the event, Shannon Chamber chief executive Helen Downes said: “IDA Ireland’s success is measured by the impact on the Irish economy of foreign direct investments (FDI) and IDA-supported companies. This region’s economy has benefited greatly from the return emanating from the one hundred plus companies operating from the Shannon Free Zone, which boasts the largest concentration of FDI in any one location in Ireland, outside Dublin. World renowned companies, such as Intel, GECAS, Axa Insurance, Element Six, Lufthansa Technik, Zimmer Biomet, Johnson & Johnson, Analog Devices and Cook Medical may already have chosen to locate in this region but the future lies in expanding this existing cohort of companies and attracting new sectors and technologies.

“We are looking forward to hearing how IDA Ireland works to attract and sustain investment at national and regional levels and to how we, as a Chamber, and our member companies, can collectively assist Niall O’Callaghan and his Limerick-based team to win a greater share of investment for the Mid-West.”
