Kieran Mulvey Appopinted Chairperson of Adare Human Resource Management

Adare Human Resource Management, one of Ireland’s leading experts in Employment Law, Industrial Relations and best practice HR Management, has appointed Kieran Mulvey, former Director General of the Workplace Relations Commission, as its new Chairman.

In his first major appointment in the private sector since his retirement in 2016, Mulvey joins Adare Human Resource Management during a significant growth and expansion phase of the consultancy business, which is headquartered in Dublin, but recently opened a regional office in Shannon, Co. Clare.

An industry stalwart with over 30 years’ experience managing some of the most high-profile industrial relations disputes across the public and private sectors, Mulvey brings unrivalled expertise and experience to bear in his new role as Chair of the Board of Adare Human Resource Management.

Kieran Mulvey also serves as Chairman of Sports Ireland. Previously, he was CEO of the Labour Relations Commission (now the Workplace Relations Commission) since 1991 before becoming Director General of the Workplace Relations Commission in 2015. Mulvey is a former General Secretary of the Association of Secondary Teachers, Ireland (ASTI) and Irish Federation of University Teachers (IFUT) and also acted as a Consultant with the EU and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on matters relating to public management, human resources and industrial relations.

He chaired the negotiations, which led to the Public Service Croke Park, Haddington Road and Lansdowne Road Agreements. He was awarded the first Honorary Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), in addition to a lifetime membership of the Employment Law Association of Ireland, for his respective contribution to Human Resource and Industrial Relations and Employment Law in Ireland. Most recently, he was commissioned by the Government to author a Report on the Regeneration of Dublin’s’ North East Inner City and played a key mediation role in securing agreement on the New Maternity Hospital at Elm Park.
